Posted - 16/03/2004 : 12:06:04 Not to be outdone by BBC Wales claiming everyone in the world as Welsh last week (http://www.hannahmorezider.co.uk/new_forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=299), the Evening Post are claiming that St.Patrick comes from Banwell in Somerset today as what must go on record as their craziest "claim" yet!
All this "claiming" begins to make our Famous Zider Drinkers (http://www.hannahmorezider.co.uk/ciderdrinkers.htm) page look realistic in comparison!
Sod the Guinness, raise a pint of Cider to St.Patrick tomorrow!

Posted - 16/03/2004 : 14:24:34 I have it on good authority that Brunel was more of a fine wines man than a cider drinker (fag), he was French afterall.

Posted - 16/03/2004 : 13:37:37 Why have we not got Isombard Kingdom Brunel on there?! I'm sure he had a more than a few pints after designing half of Bristol!

Posted - 16/03/2004 : 12:37:07 Yeah! And, er....Gary Glitter. Maybe thats not such a good idea.
We could just have a separate "claimed for Somerset" page?

Posted - 16/03/2004 : 12:28:28 Hopefully the post will have a story on their website we can link to later, and this conclusive proof can be on the site for tomorrow!
It occurred to me after doing the Tresco bit that really anyone from Somerset is a famous cider drinker, particularly if they support city. So I think the likes of Tony Robinson and Jonathan Pearce can easily be added, and also Eddie Large!
