Bristol City have agreed to sign Liverpool Academy player Steven Gillespie after the youngster impressed during a recent trial.

The under-19 striker, who is due to be released by the Reds at the end of the season, impressed officials at the Second Division promotion chasers by scoring four goals in a reserve match for the Robins a fortnight ago.

Childwall-born Gilly has scored more goals than any other Liverpool player this term and has also been on trial at West Ham since being told he has no future at Anfield.

Liverpoolfc.tv would like to wish him the best of luck in his new career at Ashton Gate next season.

He scored another hat-trick against Rovers Reserves yesterday. I think he should start on Saturday!!!

True Rich, Andy Cole and Scott Murray are two pretty good examples, and Wilkshire hasn't done too bad. Even Lee Matthews was actually pretty good before his injuries kicked in.

The reason Liverpool don't want to sign him is because he is not French and can use both feet.

I'm confused, why have Liverpool let a striker who can score go on a free???? The Liverpool Chief Exec was quoted this morning as saying that Liverpool are going to spend up to £30m this summer. They must want Gerrard to make some more comedy signings rather than using their free youth players. Mind you the Moore's family are worth over a billion now according to the Rich List so they have money to burn.

We've not got a bad history of picking up Premiership reserve team players who turn out to be quality though.

It means he know where the goal is!

If you put together the lads last outing, and his latest, you begin to get the picture that he is a class act. It won't be long before he's banging the goals in for City 1st team.

I noticed someone from city put a post on one of the Liverpool forums asking about him, and they agre with me.
