Just spent the afternoon on the terrace of the White Lion when in walked Darren Caskey, his beautiful wife and pearly queen mum and cockney dad.

A few jars later and the sun must have gone to my head as I started to talk to the family.

Darren's old man reckons if his boy had played on Saturday he would have won us promotion. Proud father!!! He then went onto embarace young Darren by telling me that he had cut down on the beer, does not eat crap anymore and even trains on his days off, in the words of Caskey pops " he's lost two bloody stone"!!!

Darren said to me that he loves it down here and really wants to sign, although three other clubs are interested.

What do you reckon of signing him on? I reckon he should be given a chance in the final two games - at least off the bench.

i have seen caskey play couple of weeks ago and he was blowing after 30 mins, he looked overweight. He ran the game for 30 mins but faded badly

From what Wilson said when we signed (all about being a big game player and stuff) it sounded like he had every intention of using him. Since he has been here Wilkshire has played crap and Wilson obviously only wants to use Tinman sparingly so im surprised Caskey hasn't even had a look in - but i can only think this is cos he's not fit enough. Lord Lucan watched the Reserves last week and backed this up by saying he was nackered after 20 mins! I'll see for myself tomorrow down at Clevedon...

Will be amazed if we give him a contract.

He was drinking coke! And it the Lion of Clifton Village sadly not of Nailsea, although I hear Tinman likes to sup an ale or two down there!

I presume you don't mean the White Lion of Nailsea?

Realistically Caskey is a very similar player to Tinman and Wilkshire - the only way he could have got on is either if he came on for Bell on the left, or if Tins was pushed to the left, as you aren't going to argue with putting Murray, Doherty, Tins and Wilkshire ahead of him at this stage of the season. I think he would do a job for us if he played, but it would be a huge gamble at the moment.

I can't believe he hasn't been given a chance yet. Come on Mr Willy play him. The lad is quality.
