While I was mocking a few Liverpool fans I work with, one of them came up with this repsonse to my taunts of ha, ha, ha your sh*t, beaton by Burnley, ha ha ha.........

At the end of the day the FA cup and the worthless cup (coca-cola cup or whatever the thing is called) both have the same meaning and as we are in the semi's of one there is no point in feilding stong squads to win the other"
I responded with "so you would rather win the coca-cola cup then the FA cup?"

Yes I can see why he says the oldest and most famous domestic cup competition in the world isn't worth bothering with. It's kind of like equating the Champions league with the Inter-toto - which is incidently the best chance Liverpool have of qualifying for Europe next year.

I don't agree with the Liverpool fan at your work Smithy and i'm sure 99% of Liverpool fans wouldn't agree either.
Liverpool fans know that the FA Cup is the biggest domestic cup in the world. Also, we love cup finals and inparticular Cardiff because we have done ok there in recent years.
I was very disappointed to see Benitez field a team of reserves and fringe players (that beat Spurs!) and i honestly believe that the FA Cup wasn't a priority to him. I don't want to make excuses for Benitez but it's a common theme with Spanish teams and Managers. For example both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been knocked out of their domestic cups (The Kings Cup) in the early rounds this year and incidently Real have never one the Kings cup!
Anyway, there is no excuse and to top it off we have lost to the scum and saints in the same week!
