Again I dont want to go on about this but in the first half Oldham could have had 3 or 4 and Phillips kept us in the game again. A couple of divots in front and he still stopped them. The crossing issue well if your going to point a blame at anyone its the defence. Many times the ball just went right into the box and no defenders even attempted to clear it.
Finally did any of the anti-Phillips people see his awesome save towards the end when there striker was one on one with him and he managed to keep it out with an outstretched hand. Also your going on about Phillips imagine how Oldham must feel, their keeper actually just passing it to Wilkshire!

How can you blame the defence for oldhams goal. The ball was 5 yards from the goal and phillips decides to FLAP again. Yes he is a good shot stopper although he has had a couple of dodgy ones this year, but time again he cause's so much trouble when defending corners. The keeper has to take control of the box when all set pieces and corners are coming in. Phillips could never do that, he always argues with the defence about marking etc but alot of the time hes to blame.
As for carey and coles the other night, well they looked awfull. Oldham are by far the worst team to play at ag for a long time but they caused so many problems. A new defender and keeper are a must

| Whatever, Cant be bothered anymore, I'll just finish by saying you wont find a better keeper than Phillips for a realistic tranfer fee and you wont find a better keeper in this division! |

I reckon we are just gonna have to disagree on this one! I'd agree that you won't find a better keeper than Phillips in this division or many in the one above when it comes to saving shots, but when it comes claiming crosses, commanding the area and distributing the ball I can't remember seeing anyone worse this season.
Which Longy are you anyway? Going tomorrow? I will be on close Phillips-watch, but hopefully he will have a stormer now he's got Johnathan Gould breathing down his neck (thats a scary thought).
Oh yeah, and it was Oldham's defender Guy Branston that passed to Wilkshire tuesday, not their keeper. He was the same bloke who scored the own goal - couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke!

It was ironic 15 minutes after I sent that last post city signed a new keeper. |
