...only joking why did City and most of their fans ever think that Tinnion could do a better job than Danny Wilson.
Remind me again... who said Tinnion would do a good job?
p.s. Any ideas who City will appoint now? Keith Millen or Bobby Gould????!!!!!!! |

A good player does not mean a good manager, something City have fallen short of. My fear from appointing Tinman at the beginning is now coming true, the bloke who would have died a legend of Bristol City will now be known as the bloke who was a crap manager at Bristol City - managing a club that you have loved can hurt you forever.
I think we need a manager of pedigree, someone with Premiership experience that the players can trust, respect and fear.
Let's get Strachan out of that s**thole they call Scotland. |

It's a shame he's gone, but in my opinion Danny Wilson should never have been sacked.
The next appointment is crucial, and if it is the wrong one, it could well be the last appointment Lansdown makes.
City need someone with a proven pedigree, someone who the players will respect, and a master of discipline.
There would probably be a few names in the hat, but i suppose it all depends on who city can afford, and who is available.
Names i've heard mentioned:
Graham Taylor David Pleat Martin Allen Bobby Gould Keith Millen

Available managers include:
Kevin Keegan Bobby Robson Terry Venables George Graham Howard Wilkinson
Although I'd like to see John Ward back if possible, another who should never have been sacked/forced out.
Getting rid of Wilson for Tinnion obviously looks a bad move now, as it did at the time, but I don't think many city fans would want to see Lansdown go - he's provided plenty of money when needed and seems to have got the club on a better financial footing. |

Let's get Sven in, I hear he's available!
Saturday was embarassing and Tinman has done the right thing to jump before he was pushed.
The key I think is to get someone who knows how to get out of the division. We've proven over the last few years that playing good football and having good players isn't enough. With this in mind Jon Ward might be good to have back.

Stan Ternant or Peter Ried I think will be on the favorites list, there are also some good number two's in the prem that I would like to see. Does not have to be a big nanme just someone who can get us out of the mess (not to sure on Peter Reid not just because he's got a Monkey's Heed, but he signed Carey) Ian Holloway (no that would be weird) and Martin Allen both have been talked about. Stans the man for me I thinks. |

News from todays Guardian...
"he artist formerly known as a turnip may soon be planting his roots in Bristol. Ex-England maestro Graham Taylor is favourite to take over as Bristol City boss following the departure of Brian Tinnion. Others in contention include Plymouth outcast Bobby Williamson, Yeovil's Gary Johnson and inexperienced former Plymouth, Charlton, Middlesbrough, Bradford, Luton, Grimsby and Cardiff gaffer Lennie Lawrence". |

Radio 5 Live have reported that Stan T was asked to come in along side Tinman 3 weeks ago or so, which he refused. So that may rule him out the Sun have also mentioned Taylor. Taylor would be great but may cost a few quid. Lennie at Cardiff did not impress me. |

Stan T was approached to work along side Tinnion, which may explain why he said no. Perhaps now Tins has gone he might be more intersted. Theres been talk of Graham Taylor, but he hasn't really done much recently so I don't think he'd be much good, and as for Lennie Lawrence.... Do we really want an ex Cardiff manager?
Anyway, I say, why aim low? If Arsenals great start to the season continues Wenger may soon be available, or what Sven Goran Eriksson? He's always wanted to get back into club football!!!! |

Rumour has it that Wenger's top of the FA wanted list for when Sven goes.
Lawrence could be seen as a tactical genius for keeping a terrible Cardiff team up, or just lucky that they got that £750k pfa loan to bail them out of trouble. Either way don't want him.
Ternant sounds ok to me, better than Taylor anyway. |

Lennie Lawrence all the way. Earns too much and does too little but he's a nice guy! I'm sure he'll take care to spend Bristol Citys money as well as he spent Cardiffs. |
