Rank the following teams in the order that you hate them the most (most hated number 1). You are not allowed to add or not include any teams.
Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, Liverpool, Man United, Tottenham Hotspur.
I think I go for:
1) Cardiff
2) Rovers
3) Liverpool
4) Tottenham
5) Man U
But its pretty hard I reckon.

Liverpool are total w*nk and all their supporters are still living in the mid 80's they oughta get over themselves realise that they will never get back to those days and shut the f*ck up. As a city fan sorry Rovers will always be number 1, i cant believe any city fan gets more pleaseure out of beating cardiff than they do of rovers.

Up until a couple of years ago I would have had Rovers top by a mile, in the days of the pitch invasions etc. But now they're jsut not good enough, we never play them and you hardly see their fans (what is left of them). If we go up we will be 2 divisions apart, thats not a rivalry! Plus I think nowadays most city fans would struggle to name more than a couple of Rovers players.
Cardiff on the other hand are about as big a club as us, but they're Welsh, with hateable players (Earnshaw, Kavanagh etc), and fans that hate us as much as we hate them.
I think soon Rovers will be finished, and all our big rivalries will be as Bristol against the other big towns and cities - Cardiff, Birmingham, Swindon, Plymouth, Reading, Stoke etc.

| mmmm possibly, but i hate the gas as much for the eternal optimism their fans have even in such pooty times... they all still think their great and whenever they win a game they think they can take on the world.. I would love to see them go to the conference and go out of business but i dont think that will happen.. Yeah Cardiff do hate us and we feel the same the play off defeat really stoked that up, but while rovers are around they are the greatest enemy |

i think it'll be a shame if the City/Rovers rivalary does dissappear really. Derbies between 2 teams based in the same City are a level above derbies between clubs from separate towns i reckon. You can't beat the tension that builds up before a Bristol derby when youre in a school or workplace that is divided 50/50 City/Rovers, the posters go up above the desks and winding-up starts weeks before the match, and the outcome of match dictates whether you go to work completely humilated the next day and face months of p!ss-taking, or go in singing Drink Up Thy Zider and have enough material to slate gas-heads until the next match. That will never be the case if our main rivals are Swindon or Cardiff, the rivalry will never be as intense. Cardiff and Swindon's main rivals have always been from nearby cities rather than their own, so they find it easier to change and adopt us as their main rivals. But for Bristol City, the main enemies will always be the Gas, and if youre working with a bunch of Gas heads all-day then Rovers must be the team you get "the most pleasure" from beating........
However, the question is all about HATE! And because most City fans have at least some gasheads as mates that they get on with fine outside of football, it hard to really "hate" them. It's usually more a case of light-hearted p!ss-taking, which has been especially one-sided these last few years now Rovers have become a comedy team, you just end up feeling sorry for them more than anything. It's much easier to hate cardiff - you don't see many of them often, and if you do they never seem to be up for a bit of banter about City and Cardiff, they will either ignore you and hide, or if they are in a large group then mouth off a load of insults. Unlike Gasheads you can't have a proper chat with them about the teams and players. The same applies after City V Cardiff matches, none of them will be around to take the stick if they lose, but loads will appear if they win to slate us! With City V Rovers, you cant avoid each other, so youve just gotta get on with it. Plus Cardiff supporters are Welsh, and it always strikes me that the Welsh are more passionate about wanting English teams to lose, rather than wanting their own teams to win.
So in brief:
Most hated = Cardiff
Team i like us to beat most (or more importantly not get beaten by) = Rovers
Teams i like to see lose purely because their supporters are moaning gits = Liverpool & Spurs (win one game: "we are the best team in the world", lose one game: "they are a disgrace, im never watching them again, they don't deserve my support, etc."
Couldn't care less = Man Utd

I think my reaction was needed for that bold statement. Especially as it came from a fan who supports Bristol City FC... who are of course a sleeping GIANT!!!
