I agree Jungle. Even as an Everton fan, we can't miss a chance to take the piss out of the fake cockney!
Jungle Jim Posted - 21/09/2005 : 15:29:37
I know its not a great time for City at the moment, but I think we shouldn't miss the opportunity to point out that a full-strength Spurs team lost at Grimsby last night.

I'm not sure how the song proves that Man Utd Liverpool is the biggest fixture of the season either?

Piss off back to America s**tway.

Shippers, that song doesn't make any sense. In the first verse you say you won it in Paris Rome and Wembely, yet in the Chorus you aparently won it five times in Istanbul.

If you Scousers are going to butcher a truely classic song you could at least get your facts right!!

Ricardino I thought you were a clever lad but you really haven't got a clue.

Still here is a song for you to get over your bitterness...

(Sung to the tune of The Beach Boys classic 'Sloop John B')

We won it at Wem-b-ely (sic)
We won it in Gay Paris
In 77 and 84 it was Rome

We've won it 5 times
We've won it 5 ti-imes
in Istanbul, we won it 5 times

When Emlyn lifted it high
He lit up the Roman sky
Thommo in Paris and Souness did it aswell

We've won it 5 times
We've won it 5 ti-imes
in Istanbul, we won it 5 times

At Wembley we won it our home
Took 26,000 to Rome
20,000 to Paris when we won it again

We've won it 5 times
We've won it 5 ti-imes
In Istanbul, we won it 5 times

Stevie G's eyes lit up
As he lifted the European Cup
21 years and now its coming back home

We've won it 5 times
We've won it 5 ti-imes
In Istanbul, we won it 5 times.

On the basis of yesterday's game its about the worst premiership fixture - can't wait for the next one tomorrow!

Liverpoo - Britain's most successful club, Status Quo announced today as Britain's most successful band - who makes these things up!

Tonight should be better anyway - Arsenal v Everton, 7-0 last time, will they go higher or lower? I reckon a bit lower because of no Henry, maybe just 5?

They said that on Sky yesterday as well and I nearly burst out laughing! There's no way that Liverpool Man Utd is the biggest fixture anymore, it hasn't been for years. Arsenal Man Utd over took it in the late 90s and now it's probably Arsenal Chelsea or maybe still Arsenal Man Utd because of the recent history. But either way, Liverpool are definitely not included!

Travelling circus or Everton? Either or.
Maddog Posted - 16/09/2005 : 13:12:22
I think Dudek owed Liverpool at least one decent performance following all those crap ones!

Is he still at Liverpool or has he left to join a travelling circus?
Rob Posted - 16/09/2005 : 12:23:17
I've caught a big fish

The pope was polish, and so is Jerzy Dudek.

Jerzy Dudek had the game of his life in that final....Coincidence?
I don't think so.
Dog Posted - 16/09/2005 : 11:50:32
That is assuming he was a good pope. I think you'll find he supported Liverpool, liked roasts, dogging & piking. He was no different to an average Joe.

Yes football is a funny old game, and Liverpool came from 3 behind in a single half, and Everton only need 4 in a full 90 minutes But i honestly can't see it happening.

I feel Istanbul was different for may reasons.

1. Firstly it was the final.
2. Liverpool had world class players on show who had the right "mentality", and who could create many "possibilities"
3. They had the best fans in the world behind them.
4. The Pope who recently died was a Liverpool fan, and was believed he performed miracles.

Can't argue with point 1, the rest are just lies though.

I'm no expert on scouse football, but I believe that despite the close links between Celtic & Liverpool that its actually Everton who are the Catholic club and Liverpool are Protestant, making it rather unlikely the Pope is/was a Liverpool fan?

Good God Wilson, are you taking the liverpool bulls**t bandwagon to a new level or what.

What can I say... absolutly awful second half.

As Rob said, Everton were the better side in the first half, and going in at half time 1-1 was bit unfair. Saying that in the second half they just fell to pieces and ended up getting the beating the performance deserved.

Overturning a 5-1 deficit, whilst unlikley, is not impossible. As they say, football is a funny old game, just remember Istanbul!
