On a recent visit to West Croft Farm, we discovered that they are holding a Waissailing event on the last Saturday in January. There will be live music, a hog roast, games and of course large amounts of some of the best cider around.

If anyone else fancies going we could hire a mini bus and driver to ship us down there and back.

Any takers?

Who is up for this prestigious event then? We have 4 definites so far, and a couple of maybes. If we can get 8 definites we'll book a minibus.

Come on!

Does it involve a fire and shooting the trees?

(If it involves JJJ it will do, just wondering if its planned or not?)

4 definites now and waiting on 2 others who want to come but it depends on other comitments. So I would would think that's enough for a mini-bus.

So we got 8 definites and 3 maybes if i include Jim in that who sounds quite tempted.

Let us now when you have times etc. Would it be better to meet up in Nailsea have a cider or two then get the bus from there and make the bus do various stops on the way home.

What we were talking about last night is meeting somewhere near Ashton Gate, as me and Lord Lucan will be heading out straight after we beat Bradford, and this is pretty easy for Al and Jack to get to. If thats ok with you lot we could meet somewhere like Nova Scotia or even Coronation for some early JJJ's, and then all get the minibus from there.

On the way back we'll have to get em to get off motorway at Clevedon and do a couple of drops in Nailsea and Long Ashton on their way to Bristol.

Coronation for some early JJJ's sounds good to me, I take it that will be about 5:00-5:30 then and the bus to pick up around 6:30.

Yeah those times sound good to me Chowie.

West Croft Farm is just off the Burnham junction on motorway, AL knows how to find it.

will the live music be morris dancers? Will have to learn some wassail songs, I like the sound of this one.

We wassail a wassail about this old town
Our cup it is white and our ale it is brown
Our wassail is made of the good ale and true
Some nutmeg and ginger it’s the best we can brew.

CHORUS: Fal-de-dal, Fal-de-dal-dedal, Fal-de-dal-de-dal,
Fal-de-dal-de-dee, Fal-de-derro, Fal-de-dal-dee,
sing Too-ra-lye.
