it is this saturday, i think we are still going.

Anyone know the number of a taxi firm that'll take us down and back from Bristol? I know a few nailsea ones, but they might charge more to come into Bristol and pick us up before heading to Burnham.

I now have six definites and maybe a mate of one of those might come, I said that depends on how big the mini bus is (I take it thats 10 or 11 now). We need a taxi firm that will do mini buses, I'll ask around but can't promise anything.

Ive just spoken to Mr JJJ and reserved 10 tickets for now, he seems very excited we are coming down! It starts at 7pm and goes on til about 12 so i reckon we book the bus to get us there and back for then. There is gonna be a band, hog roast, other food stalls, and cider is sold on tap for a "donation to charity" per pint. No mention of belly-dancers tho sadly.

Anyone had any luck finding a minibus company?

Well this was my first Wassail, and it was even better than I thought. There were about 250ish people there, all of which made us feel very welcome, and the whole event had a really good atmosphere. The actual ceremony itself only lasted ten minutes or so, a bit shorter than i thought, and there were no guns being fired, but there were fireworks.

The craziest bit of the whole crazy event was the "shouting as loud as you can" to drive out the evil spirits - 200+ people in a field at night, drinking cider, and being encouraged by a Druid and some men dressed as women to yell as loud as they can. It doesn't get any better than that.

The things that the photos missed out, apart from the fireworks, was the stall providing Somerset Apple Cake, pork Pies, Cheese and Mulled Cider - all of which were delicious.

I couldn't decide if I prefered Medium JJJ or Dry - I think alternating between the two was a good combination.

Im not sure if all Wassails are that good or whether the West Croft Farm one is a bit special, but I would highly recommend getting down to one. Can't wait til next year.

I can't remember those photos on the way home. There is one of me crying with laughter during the songs. The JJJ Medium was beautiful I will be making a visit to the farm in the near future to stock up.

We've talked about it and will definitely be attending a Wassail somewhere, probably West Croft again, although Wilkins sound like they have a good one too. Gonna fly back for it then?

Wassailing Day is always the 17th Jan, but i guess they will have it on one of the Saturdays either side of that, so 14th or 21st probably.
